Not the connection itself, but the link you have via your internet service. With a 400Mb/s plan, a 100Gb/s interface still shows similar speeds in tests. To check your local network speed, use two computers—either test by moving a big file (like a Blu-ray copy) or run iperf for more accuracy.
@PTi there's one very simple, very important question which will clear up everything and get you very fast help on this issue - What internet speed are you paying for? What speed is your service provider promising to you? To help you be accurate with this, please do not use anything your computer/device manager is telling you. Check only with your ISP/billing.
I understand this might seem unclear, but the internet cable supports up to 125MB/s. The confusion comes from thinking I deliver 125mbits/s, which isn't accurate—actually it's around 1Gbit/s. I won’t claim a 2.5Gbit adapter anytime soon; I’ll be searching for one in the future. Cheerio guys!
