I'm planning to upgrade my CPU soon and am considering skylake. Saving money is important, so I thought about getting a 4th generation chip instead of something newer like sky lake. I learned that the bclk clock is now separate from the rest of the CPU, which means I could potentially save costs by using an i5 6600 with a cheap motherboard and overclocking it. Is this a good idea? Are all motherboards compatible with this setup?

I've only heard about this method from one person, and it involved using a Supermicro board with the H170 chipset, probably.
