It's a standalone title, but if you tried Bf4, you'd quickly notice Hardline is essentially the same game just with varied vehicles and mechanics. It doesn't really stand out as a unique experience, more like a continuation of Bf4 with some changes.

I was chuckling all the time but it really is the only reason I have BF3. I got it for free and I have the beta of hardline, so yeah
