Battlefield 5 suffers from frame rate difficulties.
Greetings, everyone.
Just the other day, I began playing Battlefield 5 after installing it. Upon initially launching the game and during subsequent multiplayer matches, I experienced periods where my frames per second plummeted to the low fifties, occasionally dipping as low as forty. This resulted in a noticeably choppy experience. It appeared to stabilize somewhat afterward, though not completely consistently.
I've configured all my graphical settings at the maximum level, and my system specifications are as follows: an i5-7600k (not overclocked), a Gigabyte 1080ti, and 16gb of 3200mhz RAM. A system compatibility test indicated that my hardware should comfortably support 60 frames per second at ultra settings. Furthermore, I am playing at a resolution of 1360x768.
Could you suggest potential reasons for these frame rate fluctuations and possible solutions to address the issue?
A screen resolution of 1360 by 768 combined with a GTX 1080 Ti? Certainly. What are the temperatures and load levels like? Could it be a problem related to memory or storage capacity? I frequently experience game problems when Final Fantasy consumes a significant amount of RAM, and restarting the game usually resolves the issue.
I haven’t monitored my system’s temperatures or resource usage recently. Could you suggest a software solution? Additionally, what is meant by “FF”? And yes, 1360x768 resolution is unusual but it’s just a temporary measure until I obtain a suitable display.
Firefox is commonly known as FF. I haven't experienced this issue with my latest version, but previously on an older build, Firefox would consume a substantial amount of memory—up to 10GB out of my 16GB total. Once it reached that level, my games would experience significant stuttering due to limited available RAM. Investigate your memory utilization and observe if closing specific applications reduces the problem. MSI Afterburner is frequently employed by users for monitoring—it typically displays temperature and load information for both the CPU and GPU.
Thank you very much! I've installed afterburner and here’s the output:

It’s unusual... Occasionally, it experiences pauses with certain games, while in others, the performance is smoother. It appears to be most noticeable at the start of gameplay sessions. My memory consumption, as monitored by task manager, reached approximately 56%.
Due to the limited visual quality, your processor is causing the problem. Boosting its speed could alleviate some of the performance drops; however, for demanding games like Battlefield 5, a new processor is necessary. Even older i7 processors, designed for your motherboard’s connection type, tend to be costly and might not offer significant savings compared to switching to a newer Intel 9th generation system or an AMD Ryzen processor.
If there’s hesitation at the start of the game, I suspect a hardware problem. Are you employing a solid-state drive? Is it completely filled up?
Initially, I considered that as well, however it appeared to become more consistent afterward. While I recognize that four cores can present challenges, this is the only game, to date, where I’ve experienced such difficulties. I also play other demanding titles.
In fact, bf1 occasionally falters but it wasn’t as noticeable as in bf5, and the issues are more prevalent within that game.
