I also had some; it's unclear if this was planned. I'm not making a complaint.
Been reading around...not one bit of proof that it's a glitch, no word from EA or DICE about it being a mistake. Considering all BF4's problems in its lifespan, probably just a 'good move' for the community. Esp those who hate grinding for their attachments to find that some can't even be unlocked without those battlesnacks. I got 31 BP's, lots of other people have had varying amounts... some conclusions to whether the amount of service stars you have, ties with the amount of BP's you got. (Dunno if this is true yet)
Besides the recent battlelog update, I haven't noticed any other events. I came across this on the forums at freexavier. It seems they used to plan to give rewards for each Class service star with a gold battlepack, but they fixed it and started using it right away.
It looks like the Premium Calendar update is now available, unlike in BF3. Perhaps an upcoming sixth DLC is on the horizon!
they mentioned adding battle packs for each character you own or earn in the China Rising DLC, though it didn’t turn out perfectly. They aimed to provide a new pack for every clan member you have or acquire, which is why some players received high numbers like 113BP.
