Battlefield 4 has been resolved.
I've never experienced these issues during 500 hours of gameplay.
- FPS issues caused from last patch not fixed. - Invisible barriers on stairs and doors, still there. - Random Proning still there. - Kits resetting, now a bigger problem then before it was fixed the first time. - Hits not registering, still there. - Hits registering then being dropped by server, still there. - Textures turning near black on some maps. - Random packet loss, still there. - Some weapons having zoom on iron sights depending on loadout.. - Enemies appearing to face another direction while shooting you.....still there despite DICE claims to have fixed it. I'm sure there will be a boat ton more of new and improved bugs we can enjoy. Then there is the CTE which started out with the stated intention of dealing with the bugs and server/Netcode issues but instead got completely and utterly derailed with DICE making stupid gameplay changes and adding a new damage model that NOBODY asked for turning guns 750rpm and under in BB guns and a faster twitchy movement that LevelCa$h and his CS kiddies demanded and got because they want CS with better graphics.
I’ve been through a lot of Final Stand this weekend. I can usually keep going for around two hours, then the game freezes and stops. After that, I can play for about thirty minutes before it crashes again. Then I’m left with just fifteen minutes before it stops working entirely. So yeah, Battlefield 4 isn’t fixed.
Despite improvements in stability and memory management, the hardcoded "Netcode" problems will persist. The Frostbite engine was designed for consoles, constrained by their capabilities and the demands of Microsoft and Sony to minimize bandwidth costs, often at the expense of game quality. It can't be fully resolved because much of it was built around those companies' restrictive policies. DICE is creating cosmetic and gameplay quirks, adding unnecessary Easter egg content to divert attention from the engine's flaws. A complete overhaul from scratch is necessary for a proper fix. The engine simply isn't equipped to run games like BF4 in its current form, even though BF3 struggles more than BF4, but its "netcode" issues are still manageable.
