[Battlefield 1] The Best Multiplayer Video Game I Have EVER Played (And Why)
I need to rest, so I’ll keep it short. I’m 23 and have played a lot of video games. The beta is about four hours in now, and it’s clearly the best multiplayer game I’ve ever played. Here are some highlights:
- The WWI theme is fresh and authentic. No weapon locks—love it. It brings back old-school tactics with cool new weapons and vehicles.
- Vehicles have high skill ceilings, more seats, and planes shoot dummy bombs. They’re scary and realistic.
- The engine runs smoothly at 3440x1440 with smooth 85fps and high quality.
- Sound design is top-notch—way better than previous titles.
- Vehicle animations and exits are smooth, even with multiple seats.
- 3D aiming and shooting through smoke or wallhacks are minimal.
- Physics feel amazing—vehicles break apart realistically, and smoke behaves like real particles.
- Horses are well-integrated and sound authentic.
- Soldiers speak naturally, adding to immersion.
- The gunplay is top-tier, with satisfying feedback on every weapon.
I understand most of your points. The issue right now is the players themselves. I appreciate the adjustments made to the snipers, but it's causing entire teams to sit and shoot instead of being active in the game.
I've been enjoying COD since it was first introduced at age seven, but I no longer play it. The game feels overly large and futuristic with a tiny map size that doesn't feel right. I switched to Battlefield Wagon with Battlefield Bad Company 2 for PC, though it didn't run smoothly on my old Compaq. Later, I tried Battlefield 4 on Xbox 360 and loved it this time. Then I moved to PC Master Race, where I found a great experience. I agree with you that Battlefield 1 remains the best multiplayer game I've ever played, even though I miss the tank upgrades in Battlefield 1 compared to a T-90A.
It's decent, though not the top I've ever enjoyed. Fifteen years ago it was CS. I wouldn't call Planetside 2 my favorite shooter, but it's okay. BF1 is still enjoyable so far. The big tank is quite intimidating.
I think planetside 2 is quite dull and doesn't appeal to me much. The gun mechanics feel uninteresting to me.
