TL;DR - Lower resolution to 42% So many are wondering why Battlefield 1 feels terrible on my PC. The point is, we need to push everything to its limit! The game also has an odd method for showing settings. After some digging, I discovered that resolution scaling can be tricky. For instance, if you set it to 1920x1080, you’d actually need 100% scaling. But if you run it at 1080p, you’re really hitting UHD (4K). To play at full 1080p, you’d need to go down to 42%. That means 42% equals 100% scaling, 50% is about 130%, and the most common setting is 100% which is 200% scaling.

Interesting, this helps clarify why I struggled before. I fixed the drivers and it’s now running smoothly on my 980.

I keep it at 130% (50% BF1) on a 970, getting steady 60 as long as I avoid being hit by a plane or something. For the 970, I’d suggest using the Vaseline effect (FXAA High) instead of TAA because of VRAM limits.

QHD equals 1440p, UHD refers to 4K though it's not accurate. Most tech platforms discussed this topic just a couple of days ago—why did folks overlook it?

I believed QHD referred to Quad HD or 3.8k, while UHD represented true 4K resolution.

UHD is mainly designed for 3840x2160 resolution, whereas "real" 4K is 4096x2160. HD typically refers to 720p at 1280x720, even though some sources label it as 1366x768. FHD corresponds to 1080p or 1920x1080. For more details, visit the Wikipedia page on graphics display resolution. You can also explore further by following the link provided.
