Battlefield 1 has performance issues.
Hello, I recently purchased an MSI GTX 1070 Ti and received Destiny 2 for free. I’m really pleased with how the game runs at ultra settings, achieving 144fps, allowing me to fully utilize my 144Hz display. When I noticed Battlefield Five is coming later this year, I bought myself a F1 at a discount of just 10 euros. However, when I play it on ultra, I only get around 43fps, sometimes even lower. The gameplay feels choppy and the frame rate fluctuates. My GPU usage is about 33%, while my CPU is at full capacity. My CPU handles most games well, but I’m unsure what’s causing this issue. My Intel Core i5-7500 seems fine with it, though. I’ve asked several people if my i5-7500 could cause a bottleneck, and they said no. My friend with an i5-6500 and GTX 970 managed higher FPS in Battlefield 1 on ultra compared to me. The only difference is that he has 12GB of DDR3 RAM versus my 8GB of DDR4. Both games recommend 12GB RAM, and Battlefield V matches those specs. My drivers are up to date, and I’ve tried running the game in DX12 without changing FPS. I’m also planning to buy Forza Horizon 4, which needs 12GB RAM as well. So is my RAM the main issue, or is something else affecting performance? I’m eager to hear your thoughts.
4c/4t CPUs aren't strong enough for BF1 64-player sessions. My friend has 16GB RAM and an i5-6600, but he's hitting full CPU usage with a 1060 6GB at 1440p. That means the CPU is limiting performance too. Upgrading to 16GB RAM would help for upcoming titles since 8GB is the lowest recommended.
Your CPU might be limiting performance, but that doesn’t always mean it’s due to low power. Look into the task manager to see if bf1 is consuming most of the processing power or if another process is causing the issue. Ensure your CPU isn’t overheating, and verify your RAM usage—consider asking someone to provide extra RAM for testing.
Thanks for your response. I checked the suggested specifications and saw the recommended CPU is a Core i5 6600K, which isn’t significantly faster than what I have. Still, I appreciate your feedback. I’ll consider adding more RAM if needed.
Sauron, thank you for your response. I just looked at my task manager while playing the game and it showed my RAM usage is around 6 to 7 GB. I plan to launch the game and capture a screenshot of the task manager. My CPU temperature is about 55°C because I’m using an aftermarket MSI Core Frozr L. Also, how can I display my PC specifications on this site since many people seem to have them too? This might help solve the issue. I’ll post a screenshot of the task manager in about ten minutes.
here is a picoture of my pc running BF1 and as you can see my cpu doesn't like it. but how can it be that my frien runs a core i5 6600 and he gets 90-100 FPS in the game i only this is with DX12 enabled get this. BTW the thremals on the left are from riva tuner and the bottum one is my cpu.
Is it certain he doesn’t own an i5 6600K? It’s likely he’s boosted its performance, making it quicker.
