Two days ago I left my laptop with the lid closed while charging, but in the morning it felt a bit warm. Last night I left it open instead of charging, and this morning the battery was completely flat. It seems like the battery is still working during the night—what should I check to figure out why this is happening?

The issue being discussed is often referred to as Modern Standby. It's hard to imagine a laptop truly sleeping unless it enters hibernation mode anymore.

Sorry to hear about the issue with your laptop. It seems Windows 11 no longer supports hibernation, so you’ll have to restart it each time. That can be frustrating.

Really? I've never seen anything like this before. It seems like the battery was completely drained, which is a huge amount of power. Could the high-power computer be making things worse?
