Basic Build Overclocking Help
Basic Build Overclocking Help
I am about to buy my first components and need some guidance. Here are the parts I have:
MOBO: MSI B350M PRO-VDH;
CPU: 2200G;
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V - 2x4GB 2666MHz CL15 1.2V;
PSU: beQuiet Pure Power 10 400W;
And I have a few questions:
1. Is it safe to overclock the RAM to 3200MHz?
2. Can I safely increase the iGPU speed to 1600MHz with the stock cooler?
3: Will overclocking these parts affect their lifespan?
4: The Corsair VS450 (2018) and Fortron Hexa+ 400W are much cheaper than the PSU above. Should I consider them instead? Might this impact my overclocking options?
5: If I plan to add an RX570 level GPU later, will 400W be sufficient?
Thank you for your time, I really appreciate your advice and suggestions.
For all your inquiries:
You may safely apply a constant voltage across any section as long as the voltages and temperatures stay within the manufacturer's suggested ranges. This approach will avoid any unexpected wear or damage to the components.
Setting maximum operating conditions for every part isn't feasible since they naturally vary slightly (Silicone lottery). The most practical method is to begin with small adjustments, test frequently, and observe the outcomes. It’s more akin to an art form than a precise science.
