Hi everyone, I recently purchased a used RX 6700 XT and have 30 days to return it if something goes wrong. The problem is that the clock is set to 500 MHz by default. I can raise it using the AMD overclocking tool, but anything above 2400 MHz causes instability. Checking it in Linux shows the base clock remains at 500 MHz, suggesting a driver or BIOS issue rather than a hardware fault. I've tried reinstalling Windows and the driver multiple times, but nothing seems to work. Should I keep trying or should I return the card?

It seems you're asking about a "6700xt" and its advertised clocks. Could you clarify which product or model you're referring to? There are several devices with that name, and I need more details to provide accurate information.

This item shouldn't have such a low return policy.

It's a high-capacity Eagle with an estimated base clock of 2400MHz and a boost clock around 2600MHz. Would you like me to check if it's still usable as a second-hand product?

Yes, the GPU operates dynamically rather than maintaining a fixed frequency.

It means the system maintains a stable performance without exceeding 500Mhz or consuming over 60W under any conditions. Temperatures remain around 45°C even after a 10-minute stress test.

I would suggest flashing the vBIOS but you run the risk of bricking it if anything goes wrong, unless it has a dual BIOS switch you're better off giving it back. This is weird, every bios for 6000 series shows 500 MHz on techpowerup's database... the 5000 series and prior don't do this. Edited January 26, 2023 by DonGirses

Fun fact! The page didn't seem to exist, so I had to try a different approach.
