I recently purchased a used RX 570 from eBay after a price drop. At first, I faced some issues with the card during installation, but they resolved quickly. However, after using it for a while, problems emerged—random lockups, difficulty with hardware acceleration on Discord, and screen artifacts. I reached out to the seller, who agreed to send a replacement RX 480. Once I got it, it worked initially but started showing similar issues to the RX 570, though less severe. I’m still unsure if the problem stems from my PSU or something else. I’ve ruled out software, memory, and even the motherboard or CPU since the RX 550 functions properly. I’m considering whether my PSU might be failing or if the seller is selling cards in poor condition. I’m worried about wasting money on new parts if the PSU is indeed the issue, or risking damage if it’s faulty. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I experience GPU freezes lasting around ten seconds, after which the GPU recovers. A driver window appears warning me about an issue, but only occurs with two cards from the same seller that need a power connector from the PSU. I’m unsure if the problem lies with the PSU or if the GPUs themselves are faulty from that seller.
