Bad frame rates when playing games with DirectX 12?
Ok but is it the first one i need to install? Screenshot: ctrlv.sk/1KjU
HP's website has a special button to check your device, but the best version of the AMD graphics driver is for Windows 10. You need to update to at least build number 1703. Here is the link: https://support.hp.com/hk-en/driver...00...l/11792430
I'm using Windows 10 version 21H2 and I won't have any problems.
Yeah, sure thing if you have been using Windows 10 lately, so please install the driver that is highlighted in green because this one is probably for an old device. First, uninstall any existing drivers with DDU while in safe mode and pick the driver from my list above. Did you remember which driver you had before and when it was released?
It's just a new AMD driver, but F1 cars still have issues with DX12 when using DX12 settings.
Are you saying the computer with your DX12 issues is the same one I pointed out in green? If yes, have you checked temperatures, especially for the graphics card (GPU)? If this laptop has been sitting around for a while and hasn't been opened or cleaned, that might be the problem. If you're worried about messing it up, there are videos on YouTube showing how to take them apart. You need to look for dust blocking the CPU's heatsink and fan, as well as the GPU's heatsink and fan. Even if the graphics card supports DX12, it might not run those games smoothly. In that case, picking a DX11 option could be better if the game needs it.
No, actually my current driver is the newest from AMD and it isn't causing any issues you mentioned before. The only issue I had with my old one was overheating back when I bought the laptop, but now it doesn't really hurt FPS much except in very hot weather. For example, with F1 2020 there are two different DX modes: DX11 works fine but DX12 ruins the frame rate even though my brother has an R5 M400 that he likes and runs well for him. I think it's a driver problem because I'm going to reinstall both drivers tomorrow since it is already 22:33 right now. I will update everything after doing the reinstall. Also, I cleaned the laptop about six months ago and added some extra thermal paste on the processor.
You should use a laptop cooling pad if your computer gets hot because these things are very inexpensive. The driver we talked about is the most recent, and you can tell it's new just from the date written on it, so go ahead and install it now.
BIG CHANGE: My GPU is now showing as an R8 M445DX. After a little searching, I realized it's actually both my dedicated and integrated graphics working together. So maybe I had drivers for two GPUs before but just got them mixed up. It was glitchy though and I'm going to test the game right away. I'm a bit worried because I ran the driver install twice thinking I did nothing wrong, and my PC crashed (blue screen) if that happens again!
