Backup SD card as IMG
Backup SD card as IMG
I looked up similar topics online, but found mostly information about copying images to SD cards or backing up files. I have CoreElec and Kodi on an SD card in an Android device, and after setting everything up recently, the box is no longer supported. I’m considering creating an IMG file of it so future reinstallations can be easier without updating CoreElec or resetting media data. Is there a simple free app for this?
The .bin (binary) file from ImageUSB is a disk image that includes a checksum. Its primary purpose is bulk duplication of USB drives, though it can also work with individual drives.
@PassMark, same name as the developers of the app? I tried it now, but saving it shows only *.bin with no other options like *.img.
@Alabalcho, I used that app before but didn’t remember having that choice. Could be older versions didn’t. I’ll give it another shot.
EDIT... Win32 Disk Imager can be misleading... instead of creating, you click READ and it generates the file automatically. Not very clear, but worth knowing.
