We require an FTP directory with varied permissions: broad access for viewing, restricted editing for uploading, deleting, or modifying, and limited access for changes. The files should be saved in separate versions after any updates.

You'll need some kind of software for this task. I don’t have any particular suggestions, but Symantec Backup works well.

You're right, I didn't provide much detail. The FTP server is managed by the hosting provider. I've initiated contact with them, but haven't received a reply yet. Appreciate your feedback.
