Multiple popular options are available. They function similarly in most aspects. Differences lie in the interfaces. Some are more intuitive than others. I rely on SyncBackFree. Another frequent alternative is FreeFileSync. Karen's Replicator, Folder Clone, and Allway Sync are also common. Generally, you can select or exclude based on folders or even individual file names. The initial backup should take several hours. Later backups will probably be quick, minutes at most, since only new or updated files from the source need copying—others are already present on the destination. You must decide whether to retain a file in the backup even after it has been removed from the source. I prefer not to do that, though some users do. Think about "Second Copy" if you're prepared to invest. It's also highly recommended, offering quality at around thirty dollars with a thirty-day free trial. From Centered Systems, as I remember.
Tried your SyncFreeBack. Need to be a brain surgeon for this. Launched it. Seems to want a new profile set left and right. No left and right panels. Wants to do a simulation. When you abort it, you find no desk top icon to launch it again. No open exsisting profile.
This works well for personal use. However, when attempting to download it, it prompts for payment or a trial.

Macrom reflect installation failed. Attempting to install a 32-bit version on Windows 10 64-bit. Requested email for code access. Received email but redirected to trial or paid option. No free version available.
Macrium "trial" seems to turn into a free version after 30 days automatically.
No regular user needs to purchase the paid option.
It will back up personal files, though it isn’t the easiest method. It’s ideal for safeguarding your system rather than just data.
The most straightforward interface I’ve encountered in a standard personal file backup app is Second Copy, as mentioned earlier. You can usually go with the defaults.
Other options tend to have complicated and possibly confusing interfaces. You might find yourself figuring things out or simply choose Second Copy.
I think Karen's replicator could be surprisingly simple—something I haven’t seen in 15 or 20 years.
