I've noticed many people say the b660 boards aren't great. Want to know if this specific one is worth considering?

It's not the worst. The MSI Pro B660M-A stands out among the cheaper options.

A 12400 is acceptable. At 12600K and an i7, a better motherboard would be preferable.

Wouldn't consider it an inexpensive board. Comparable to z690 ones.

It varies, as most budget B660 boards (those that aren't priced like a standard Z690) aren't ideal for K or i7 processors. This could be less of an issue if you're on a tight budget and using an i3-12100 or even an i5-12400. The MSI Pro B660m-A stands out significantly, offering solid performance for i5-12600k or i7-12700k without any concerns. It can even manage the i9-12900k at full capacity, though the heat output becomes quite high. The Gigabyte DS3H is clearly a weaker option but offers savings in certain regions if you compare prices with the MSI model. It's adequate for an i5-12400 but not recommended for more powerful chips. Never place it in a sealed case lacking ventilation—it could damage itself.
