The system would likely face limitations due to memory controller conflicts and PCIe bandwidth constraints, potentially preventing simultaneous use of two M.2 PCIe4 slots with high-speed RAM.

It appears the device has a PCIe slot compatible with Gen5 and two M.2 slots—one linked to the CPU and another to the chipset.

I believed both the CPU and chipset were necessary for a motherboard to back PCIe 5.0 support.

Not always. Since the PCIe connections originate directly from the CPU, the chipset doesn't have to back up newer versions. While AMD and Intel sometimes limit compatibility in certain situations, they don't block support for CPU-generated lanes. For lanes passing through the chipset, both CPU and chipset require a minimum level of compatibility.
