B650 AM5 encounters Secure Boot problems
Your friend's MSI B650 Tomahawk with a Ryzen 7800X3D is having issues with secure boot. After disabling it, saving changes causes it to reset until a reboot, then it reverts security settings. This behavior suggests the system is trying to enforce security after each attempt. Consider checking BIOS settings directly or consulting the manufacturer's support for specific steps to bypass or adjust secure boot during installation.
Many boards need both disabling a feature and removing pre-installed keys to disable secure boot. This process can take 3 to 4 times longer depending on the motherboard's complexity. However, Windows has consistently supported secure boot without issues for a long time. I'm more curious about why it doesn't work with secure boot instead of why secure boot itself isn't functioning.
It seems Ventoy uses secure boot, but the setup usually falls back to legacy boot instead of UEFI. If you didn’t adjust it from the default settings, that’s probably why it’s not behaving as expected.
