No, switching to B550 wouldn't provide any benefit. The main difference between B550 and B450 usually lies in PCIe 4.0 versus PCIe 3.0. However, your CPU and graphics card aren't compatible with PCIe 4.0, so there would be no advantage. Additionally, B550 isn't supported by your system—it only works with Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 5000 processors.

Using PCIe storage often makes higher-gen drives unnecessary unless you're after top-tier performance. In fact, you could get double the storage capacity of a Gen 3 drive at the same cost as a Gen 4 drive without any significant performance gain for most users.

I'm testing 3466Mhz on my medium-end B450 board... The memory controller on the CPU is a key factor (it restricts me from reaching 3600MHz). Consider this, X470 and B450 are the only boards that support all consumer desktop Ryzen chips.
