B550 mobo VRM temperature details
People I watched videos about MBOOM VRM. I’m curious—does the VRM temperature change because of the outside weather? Since it’s hot (35–45°C) in my country, does that impact the VRM voltage?
The warmer your space is, the more intense the system—such as VRMs—will operate. Your test data indicates readings were recorded at 21°C ambient temperature. If your environment is around 35-45°C, expect significantly higher temperatures.
The temperature shown in the image is the room setting... 21°C inside the case. The ambient heat influences performance, so the internal chip temps will rise slightly. Remember, the components under the heatsinks can handle up to around 125°C, but for extended use it's best to keep them below 95-100°C. With higher temps, you might see 5-10°C above those values. The exact figure depends on fan count, case quality, and RPM—airflow plays a big role. You should be okay even with boards labeled at 75°C, but if you need reliability with multiple cores (12-16), choose models rated at 60°C or lower.
