I'm setting up my first PC using a B450M DS3H motherboard. I'm considering either a Ryzen 5 2600 or a 3600 processor. I'm unsure if the 3600 will work with this board or if I'll need to update the BIOS. Online searches have given conflicting advice, so I want a definitive answer. The logo on the case might matter, but I just need clarity. Good luck!

The motherboard should support the Ryzen 5 3600 when using BIOS version F40 or later. You can verify this in the BIOS settings or with tools like CPU-Z under the "Mainboard" section. If you have the original case, look for the "Ryzen 3000 ready" mark—it’s not essential, but confirms the correct BIOS version.

The information is provided directly on the packaging. If the box lacks the Ryzen 3000 ready badge, you may need to update the BIOS. When purchasing in a store, you can verify the details in person; however, with online orders, confirmation comes after delivery.
