It's okay to add another 16GB RAM to your B450 Tomahawk Max. Stability shouldn't be an issue as long as the system meets the requirements. The 3600MHz CL36E chipset supports higher memory configurations.

What processor are you using? It’s usually best for the latest Ryzen 5000 lineup, though earlier models can be a bit more challenging. From my experience, handling four RAM sticks on Ryzen is quite demanding. Advertised speeds aren’t always reliable unless you’re using identical sets of RAM. If you purchase the same 16GB module, it might come from different production runs and won’t be guaranteed to function properly.

Four sticks are fine, most issues stem from mixing kits or using dual-rank sticks together. Two identical sets can use completely different chips even if purchased simultaneously. Ryzen doesn't favor quad rank, so four 16GB sticks may cause trouble, but four 8GB sticks should function properly as long as they match. Ram setup with Ryzen is tricky. The safest choice is to purchase a fresh 32GB kit. Weigh the risk of incompatibility against upgrading options. Four 8GB sticks are preferable unless you intend to go beyond 64GB.
