I was considering purchasing one of these motherboards. I checked online and found some issues with booting and the RGB red light not working properly. I’m asking about past experiences since I want to see if these problems still occur often. If they’re fixed in the BIOS or newer models, what are the downsides of buying this board? It seems like there might be other bigger concerns if those issues disappear. Appreciate your help!

They perform exceptionally well. Choose a 3400 or 3600MHz 2x8 kit paired with an R5 3600 or 3700X, and you'll have reliable performance for some time. This setup is a great deal right now: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 at 3.6 GHz (6 cores) for $166.89 at Walmart, MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 motherboard for $114.99 at Best Buy, and G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 memory for $66.99 at Newegg. Combined total comes to $348.87, including shipping and taxes. This was generated by PCPartPicker on June 6, 2020.

The seller had a strong sales performance, with around 100 units sold. People generally praised the MB at this price level.

I shared similar worries after learning about the cold boot problems. Recently, I stopped ordering motherboards because of that issue. Now I was tempted by the price cuts and bought one with the R5 3600 and double 8GB RAM. I’m hoping everything works out fine. It seems the board is quite popular and most users have no trouble with it.

The build I’m aiming for includes more than just the memory being a corsair vengeance lpx, except for the game skill Rip Jaws. I might adjust it now that I can see the cost.
