It's also a solid RAM kit you have, quite similar to mine. Honestly, the B450 max from MSI is a great motherboard, though I wouldn't suggest any MSI boards for X570—they're really poor. I chose the B450 because I don't really need PCIe 4.0 features.
My performance reached 1900mhz at 2700x, though it wasn't consistent every day. On an Intel processor, it might be possible to reach 4000mhz, but stability remains a concern. Still, the results are rewarding and the recognition is satisfying. These memory kits are popular because they handle voltage well, run at high speeds and deliver strong performance. Eventually, I plan to test my 4266mhz G.Skills against the 8700K on this build to see what it can do. It seems the memory controller is quite restrictive, rarely hitting 4000mhz with my 2700X. However, the 3700X on another board could easily reach it. I recently noticed the 3600X was achieving around 5000mhz with certain kits—details are fuzzy, but it's impressive for AMD. It’s disappointing that many still opt for Corsair 3200mhz sticks with aggressive CL18 or loose timings, especially since I saw someone on the forum using a 18-22-22 Corsair kit and it didn’t work for them.
Wow, what a mix! Most folks tend to buy budget Corsair RAM with high CAS levels, rarely going beyond 16. I usually stick to 16 before splurging. I saved a lot of money by choosing the B450 instead of the 570 Aorus Elite, and I opted for an Acer Nitro 240Hz screen rather than the Aorus KD25F. Both had similar TN panels with minor differences, so I went with the Acer model. I was able to stretch my budget further by getting a nice RAM upgrade, and now I’m aiming for the G-Series with 3200 CAS and 14. After that, I heard about a 3600 CAS16 kit for just 166€ on CDSC. I couldn’t resist!
You know, my last real PC was from 2008, and I’ve been using a laptop since 2013. It’s worn out from rendering videos and other tasks, so I finally managed to buy a proper machine. I always try to balance everything—good CPU, decent RAM, and a reliable PSU. I only trust brands like Acer when it comes to the PSU, and I’m definitely impressed with the 3600X. It’s hitting 5000MHz with certain memory kits, which is pretty amazing!
that b450? max/mortar solid mmo gpu, not sure about the carbon version but it seems to fit. these are some of the top msi gpus for 450. strong VRM and capable of running a 3900 amd, airflow matters definitely. (I’ll probably upgrade to a 3900 later...) this unit meets exactly what I need, no extra rgb features. sufficient. ^^ (just a touch of rgb is enough for me). I think it’s a great configuration, i really needed something that delivers exactly what I wanted. it’ll handle old-school games like LoL too.
