B450 Tomahawk equipped with headless configuration for UNRaid operations.
I just upgraded my Ryzen 3000G in my UNRaid server to a 2600 because the 3000G needed another build for a family member. I know the Ryzen 2600 doesn’t have an integrated GPU, but some motherboards can run in "headless mode"—meaning without a GPU, it still boots and runs UNRaid via the WebUI on another PC. I haven’t found any setting in MSI Bios for headless mode or boot error options. My question is, does the B450 Tomahawk support this feature? If yes, how do I turn it on? If not, anyone recommend a B450 board that does it? I only know the ROG STRIX B450F supports it.
I have identical motherboard with Ryzen 9 3900x and Zotac 1070ti mini. Despite all attempts, I couldn't connect the 1070ti to my Windows VM. Now I realize I need a budget GPU for Unraid. I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk with two PCIe x16 slots—one for 3.0 (main) and another for 2.0. I want to run my 1070ti on PCIe 3.0 and the secondary GPU for Unraid on PCIe 2.0. How do I set up Unraid to use the second GPU as the primary? Thanks ahead!
If you find yourself on this page after searching for MSI headless, it's now a feature supported across all MSI boards. Update the latest BIOS, turn off VGA Card Detection, and restart. You won't have to buy an inexpensive graphics card anymore.
I've just arrived from Google with this problem. Appreciate your follow-up!
