B450 isn't showing up for 2200g or 3200g.
Dealing with a B450 board and a 2200g RAM setup has been tricky. I attempted to swap in two identical boards, but neither functioned properly. A nicer B550 model worked fine. I removed the CMOS battery, held the power button while off, then reinserted it. The board started up, stayed on for about 30 seconds, and then shut down. I also tried using a 3200g in both boards, but neither responded. After replacing the 2200g from board A into the B550, I considered a BIOS update to try a 2000g RAM stick. I placed the 3200g from board A inside the B550 to see if it would work with a different configuration. Meanwhile, I removed two RAM sticks from board B but still couldn’t get it to boot.
2200g was released following the original 2000 series CPUs. A BIOS upgrade is necessary for the B450 board. The earlier B450 models you had likely received updates during use, but this particular unit might still have outdated BIOS or hidden problems. Research suggests that some Gigabyte B450 boards required the update, while others supported it from the start, despite many others not needing it.
The B450 models are both marked as 3000 series ready. They’ve been used with both 2200g and 3200g configurations, and I haven’t changed the BIOS settings.
It seems there might be a damaged bios file or an issue that’s difficult to diagnose with the current tools. At least we can confirm it isn’t related to the CPUs, so the focus is on identifying the exact problem on the hardware.
