Absolutely, but there are certain capabilities missing from the Pcie gen 4 Rbar option on some devices. I’ve started to consider more possibilities now.

The B450 supports Ryzen 3rd gen to a large extent. These boards share the same AM4 socket as the newer 470X and 570X models. Most B450 boards will require a BIOS update for optimal performance with Ryzen 3000 chips. Yes, you'll need to update the BIOS, but performance remains strong afterward.

The update is necessary before the Ryzen 3000 series CPU can be used. You're correct about the R5 3600 being based on Zen 2, not Zen 3.

Gen 3 differs from Zen 3. Gen 3 Ryzen represents the 3000 series, marking the third generation of Ryzen processors. Zen 3, now limited to the 5xxx lineup, is the third update in the Zen design.

Yes, it's a Zen 2 processor. You can usually find confirmation on the board's support page whether the Ryzen 3000 series is included by default.
