I purchased a Ryzen 5600G with a B450 A PRO MAX. I’m deciding which RAM to install. The motherboard supports DDR4 up to 4133 MHz, but I’m unsure if this RAM will work. I have two options: the first link from Amazon and another from G.Skill. Both are priced similarly, but I want the best performance possible. I need confirmation about the motherboard’s compatibility with the faster model. I won’t be buying a GPU soon, so I just need advice.

Choose the quicker kit option. The motherboard belongs to the B series, allowing memory overclocking past the standard DDR4-3200 limit. Most Ryzen 5000 chips are compatible with DDR4-3600 speeds, so you should be fine. Since you’re not using a graphics card, RAM performance becomes crucial, as the integrated graphics in the 5600G rely on memory bandwidth together with the CPU. In short, for the 5600G, faster RAM delivers better results.

They mentioned incompatibility, but I’ve watched clips showing people using it at 3600 MHz—maybe they’re testing something else.

The recommended speed for the chip and motherboard is DDR4-3200, though DDR4-3600 should function just fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if the system started up with XMP enabled. I don’t agree with the support representative’s view: the RAM is compatible. Anything beyond DDR4-3200 is generally seen as overclocking, but it remains technically possible. It simply isn’t officially approved. In short, if it doesn’t work, AMD, MSI, and TeamGroup won’t assist you in getting it to run. However, that doesn’t guarantee it won’t—probably it will.
