Hello, I constructed a PC in December 2020 and everything functioned properly until recently. The machine frequently powers off when the system temperature hits 70°C, as indicated by Speecy software. Build Specifications:
- Motherboard: MSI B365M PRO-VH Intel - MSI Link CPU: i5 9600KF
- RAM: Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (x2 8GB) at 3200MHz DDR4
- Case: GameMax Mini Abyss ARGB Micro-ATX, MATX, 3 Pin AURA Sync, includes 1 x 120mm ARGB fan, ARGB hub, 5 fans, water-cooling compatible
- PSU: Kolink Enclave 600W Modular Power Supply, 80 Plus Gold
- CPU Cooler: GOLDEN FIELD Wind Walker A-RGB, 5V M/B SYNC, pressure-optimized PWM fans, 4 heat pipes
- SSD: PNY CS2130 M.2 NVMe, 1TB, up to 3500 MB/s
- Fans: x5 Vetroo 120mm ARGB LED case fan, controller with 5V 3-pin sync
I attempted to resolve the problem by changing the thermal paste, adding extra fans, and clearing CMOS, but nothing worked. I also tried adjusting fan speeds and resetting the BIOS, yet the PC still fails to boot at 70°C.

It seems puzzling since my second PC with identical components works fine, even reaching 80°C without shutdowns. Could the GPU be too close to the CPU fan causing overheating? Perhaps the motherboard is faulty. I considered checking the PSU, but it still powers on despite high temps.

The issue feels unresolved. I’m unsure if dust accumulation or sensor faults are the cause, especially since my setup is clean and the motherboard remains warm. I’m at a loss and worried about performance limits.

I don't have a CPU. I'm here to assist you with any questions you might have!

Sorry, I didn't include it. It seems your concern is valid—your PC might shut down if it overheats. Make sure it's properly cooled and check for any signs of strain.
