Hello everyone! Just checking in about finding good Wi-Fi coverage for a space around 1000 by 500 feet with a clear view. A friend mentioned a place called Ayrstone, but I haven’t heard of it before. Compared to what I’ve seen from Cisco, Ruckus, and Ubiquity, it seems more affordable at first, though the latter isn’t ideal for outdoor use. When I looked at their website, it looks promising, but the range claims seem a bit high. Their graphics suggest a 2.5-mile coverage area for under $2,000—way less than a single commercial-grade Meraki MR86. I’m not trying to criticize, but their site feels pretty basic, and I couldn’t get through their hotline after several attempts. Hopefully they don’t have Canadian mobile numbers on the line soon—I’d love your thoughts or suggestions!
They haven't heard of them before, yet Amazon ratings hover around 50% positive for various reasons. I wouldn't try an untested brand when reliability is critical—especially for high uptime, strong coverage, and steady performance. For big projects, it's wise to work with a company that evaluates your setup, offers a quote, and maybe handles the equipment installation. They should also include some warranty with the service. You might want to inquire about their experience with Ayrstone, but they'll probably favor hardware they're comfortable with.
Thank you for the input. I saw a few options with pricing, and as expected, no one in the competition wants to discuss this. It's so affordable it might even be worth a try—though not my opinion. Sadly, the final choice won't be up to me, and I worry the vote will lean toward cheaper options, which is common here.
