I would remove the dust from the fans if needed. Is it a laptop or a PC?

Looking through WoW technical support communities reveals many players experience stuttering in Dragonflight, including some who played at launch. When dealing with the game itself, little can be done. If the issue stems elsewhere, consider these steps: * Verify SSD capacity and remaining free space. * Occasionally Nvidia drivers clash with others, leading to high CPU usage or stutter; clearing Nvidia drivers via DDU and reinstalling may resolve it. * Ensure no Windows service or application is consuming excessive CPU during WoW sessions. * Turn off overlays (Discord, MSI Afterburner, etc.), disable all add-ons, and retest. * If using multiple monitors, disconnect all except the main display and try again.

I left before the DF but recorded from tbc to SL. Please specify the zones you're in. If you share your settings and advanced menu screenshot, I can adjust it for your hardware.

It's a 1 tb WD Blue M.2 drive. I'm considering using DDU soon. Looking into potential addon issues right now. Appreciate the help!

You're playing WOTLK Classic and haven't encountered this issue before in DF. I'm about to update my settings, but I'll disable add-ons to check the outcome.

Check various settings one by one: turn off vertical sync, disable MSAA, and set texture filtering to 8x WoW at 1080p in windowed mode. Ensure the VRAM usage stays within limits—sometimes DX12 consumes more memory than expected. Comparing Direct X 11 API with DX12 would be useful. It seems you're in a standard environment, so it's not a low-optimization area. Also consider disabling 'max background FPS,' a feature I find unnecessary.
