I rarely rely on adblockers since I believe most websites deserve their ad income, and it wouldn’t be right for me to stop them (though I don’t want this to become a discussion about adblockers—just a minor thought). Recently, I saw an ad on Skype: the issue wasn’t just the message but that it was flashing and animated. I can handle many ads, but flashing ones at the top of my client aren’t okay. I’m trying to find a method to block ads in Skype. Keep in mind I’m using the latest version (v7.0.80.102), so older fixes won’t help. I’ve added apps.skype.com to the restricted sites list in Internet Options, but ads still appear (the current one isn’t too bad, but I’m not sure). If anyone has recommendations for an adblocker that works with the newest Skype version, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

Really, I've never managed to stop those annoying ads on Skype. I dislike using it for this reason.

Consider the original post carefully. In version 7 there are no ways to disable ads.
