I just set up my first PC and everything seems to function properly. However, when I connect via Ethernet and download a game on Epic Games, I’m stuck with no internet access. The same error appears across all pages, and the download speed is extremely slow. On Wi-Fi, it works fine—streaming YouTube, Facebook, etc.—but downloading games is even slower. I’ve seen others mention similar issues online, but no clear solution has emerged. On my other computer, the problem doesn’t occur with internet. Could anyone help? My setup includes a Z790 ASUS TUF Gaming Plus Wi-Fi plus Intel Ethernet Controller 1226-V and an Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz for Wi-Fi. Thanks in advance if you can assist!

What internet speed are you using or paying for? If the download is consuming all your bandwidth, that could be the issue. Have you downloaded the network drivers from the motherboard manufacturer's site? https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...-PLUS-WIFI

You might be facing bufferbloat over Ethernet and common wireless data overload in your wireless network.

My internet connection isn't very strong, around 100 Mbps. On another computer I’m fine with at least 14 Mbps instead of the usual 4 Mbps. I’ve updated all the drivers from the site but still face problems. Can you help me improve my bandwidth? I’m not very familiar with PC settings, sorry! Thanks for your help.

All your gadgets link via a single router or gateway, and only one user is impacted, suggesting bufferbloat isn’t the main issue. This is your first PC setup—verify Windows isn’t silently installing updates. Other applications like Steam could be downloading in the background while you restore games. Review Device Manager to confirm no devices are marked as missing or unrecognized. Install not just the network card drivers but also the chipset driver that matches your Windows version. Also, confirm whether you’re using Asus network drivers or Intel’s. Check your motherboard BIOS version (currently v1656 released this year). If needed, back up the BIOS and update it, being careful about potential corruption risks.

Hey Falcon, thanks for your response. When I checked the Device Manager, nothing looked missing or unidentified. I’ve been using the network driver from ASUS, which includes an app called 'Armoury Crate' that came with the motherboard or BIOS. It’s been assisting me in updating all drivers I needed. I recently updated the BIOS to version 1656, and I noticed this update only occurred when I downloaded a game from Epic Games. When I tried using Steam, I reached my download speed limit and still managed to browse normally. I’m wondering if the issue might be related to the Epic Game launcher or some setting configuration. Let me know if you have any ideas. Appreciate your help!
