Hello everyone, this is my first time joining the forum in a while. I upgraded my PC from an Intel i5 11600k to an AMD R9 7900X for engineering work. At first, the system struggled to recognize the Windows 10 installation drive and took over 50 seconds to boot. After enabling CSM support and memory context restore, the issue improved. I experimented with precision boost overdrive settings, but overheating caused me to reset everything. I restored the BIOS to its original settings and simply enabled EXPO and PBO without making any other changes. When I tried to restart, the system still wouldn’t boot. I attempted to clear CMOS by removing the battery and used the BIOS flashback tool multiple times, but it didn’t help. I’m unsure what the meaning is for the fan behavior and power LED pattern I observed during startup—only a few clues. If anyone has advice or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it.

Specs: Ryzen 9 7900X, Asus PRIME X670-P-CSM, ASUS ROG Strix LC II, 280 ARGB liquid cooler, 2x32GB Kingston 6000MHz DDR5 RAM, GTX 1080, ROG Strix Corsair RM850 (PSU)

BIOS update involves reprogramming the system using a fresh BIOS file stored on a USB drive. Try this method with another BIOS version to determine if it resolves the firmware issue.

I attempted that earlier but it didn't function properly. Then I switched to an older version which worked after flipping to the previous release and experimenting a bit. Eventually I went back to the latest version, but it only posts via the CPU display port—not the GPU. If you connect the GPU while keeping the display on the CPU, it still works, but not through the GPU itself. It's quite unusual.

It's quite unusual. I'd recommend keeping the older release for better reliability.

Ultimately the problem stemmed from two different memory context restore and power-down options in ASUS BIOS—one under AI Tweaker, another in the Advanced section. Adjusting both to identical settings fixed the post-reboot posting issue. Thanks to everyone sharing their insights here.
