I'm unsure what to do now. I haven't overclocked and I'm still experiencing frame drops. Since installing the new motherboard, I can't play anything smoothly. Is my PC really failing?
Model: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H
Power Supply: 750W Thermaltake 80+ Bronze
Processor: A10 6800k (Richland)
Graphics: GTX 970
Memory: 16GB RAM
Storage: 2TB HDD

Are you wondering if the items you currently possess will remain functional in the future? All but the HDD seem to be new, but what about its slow speed?

Your CPU might struggle with that card. That’s probably the reason for the performance drops. The card is more powerful than your CPU can handle.
Since the system isn’t designed for gaming, it’s unlikely this setup will work well for games either.

I don't believe the CPU is causing the issue. A newer Ryzen or Intel chipset would assist with the 970, but we're not experiencing noticeable performance drops. Have you replaced the motherboard with the A10 8600K CPU, and has your gaming speed improved before this change?

Unless you swapped your previous motherboard for an identical version, you must reinstall Windows. Modifying the motherboard without this step may cause stability and performance problems, and in certain situations Windows might fail to start.

Unless you swapped your old motherboard for the identical one, you should reinstall Windows. Swapping the board without doing so may cause stability and performance problems, and in some cases Windows might not even start. I haven’t reinstalled Windows after this new motherboard. Maybe I’ll try later.

I don't believe the CPU is causing that issue. A newer Ryzen or Intel chipset would assist with the 970, but we're not experiencing choppy stuttering performance here. Did you just replace a dead motherboard with that A10 8600K CPU and everything else remains unchanged? Were your frame rates higher before the motherboard change?
I was fine with my previous motherboard. After installing this new one, boot times improved significantly and everything worked smoothly! Then after a couple of days, performance dropped sharply. It seemed strange how something so good could fail so quickly.
EDIT: I replaced a standard motherboard with a new one and everything else stayed the same.
