Avoid installing Windows 10 version 2004 update at this time
A Windows 10 release for version 2004 exists but comes with several problems: https://www.ghacks.net/2020/05/28/window...of-issues/
We'll find out.
I'm just thinking about installing it in 1909 and planning for 2004. I hope it won't have the same issues as the recent upgrades—nothing like that.
We'll find out.
I've been using it for months as someone with access, and it's provided consistent performance. Of course, a few users might face problems, but those are usually linked to their specific hardware setup, drivers, or software. For the large group of people, it should work smoothly.
New versions of Windows, including older Service Packs, sometimes cause system issues. With Windows 10, Microsoft added telemetry tracking and a feedback hub that helps quickly configure updates for similar setups and narrows down problems. For each Windows 10 release, there’s a publicly listed status of known issues. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...ws-10-2004 Remember to keep all drivers current—chipset, audio, printer, keyboard, mouse—and ensure security software is fully updated before upgrading. If an A/V device interferes during an upgrade, it can temporarily block operations, causing confusion. Microsoft quickly added update blocks to prevent such disruptions. Once the A/V company released a fix, users could apply it. Forcing an upgrade using the Media Creation Tool bypasses these blocks, so proceed with caution. This information was discussed in my previous thread.
Current progress is satisfactory, 2004 setup completed, minor configuration changes undone, pending more updates. All functioning properly. No issues detected.
