Avoid altering display settings in Windows.
I work with a multi-monitor arrangement, using two monitors and a TV connected to both a desktop PC and a laptop. One monitor links to both devices, while the other and the TV connect solely to the desktop. They all have varying resolutions and scaling settings (1080p, 1440p, 4K). I frequently switch between different configurations. Sometimes I show content from the laptop on one monitor and from the desktop on another. Turning off the TV helps reduce strain. The issue is that whenever I change what’s displayed or switch off the TV, everything shifts and scaling becomes inconsistent. I’m wondering if there’s a way to make Windows send video output in a specific manual setup and avoid automatic updates, even without any HDMI/DP cables connected.
