I currently combine AVG Free with Malwarebytes. Bitdefender Total Security costs 29p for six months on g2a. People say it runs lighter than AVG. While I’m okay paying 29p for Bitdefender, I’m unsure if it’s superior to AVG Free. I don’t know if Bitdefender includes built-in anti-malware, so I’m considering using Malwarebytes as well. My advice would be to test both and see which fits your needs best.
Avg and Malwarebytes navigate to advanced options and disable real-time scanning. Adjust several parameters; Avg runs without consuming much CPU, as it already verifies imported files and downloads.
average performance is heavily impacted by high resource consumption and slow shutdowns, though all antivirus programs I've tried have made my PC feel sluggish in some way. Currently, only about 360 security checks are running, using minimal resources, but I'm not sure if this is effective.
