Hi there, I'm having some issues with my PC after installing new parts this Christmas. I switched from the old Intel X58 Xeon to a modern Ryzen 2600 with 16GB RAM and a Vega64 graphics card. The problem is that my USB 3.0 drive from Intego only allows a 2.0 Gbps speed, which translates to about 30 MB/s. On an older Intel I5 2500K machine connected via USB, the transfer rate jumps to around 100 MB/s, matching USB 3.0 speeds. I've tried changing ports, checking BIOS settings, formatting the drive as NTFS or exFAT, reinstalling Windows with updated drivers, and even using different USB ports—but nothing seems to fix it. Which motherboard you're using? Blue or red USB 3 ports usually mean it's an older model, while black USB 2 ports are typical for newer ones. (Your case seems to have only USB 2 ports.) — Edited Feb 8, 2024 by leclod
All ports support USB 3.0 or better, and my case is a recent model from Sharkoon featuring USB 3.0 exclusively on the front USB port.
No, I'm not sending multiple small files at once. I'm transferring just one large file.
