I’m considering replacing my 12600k CPU with a newer model Intel might announce soon. Since I have support on my motherboard, I won’t need to replace the board or RAM, saving costs mainly on the CPU itself. I came across some discussions about this on TechPowerUp, including an article from 2025 about a potential P-core-only Bartlett LGA1700 processor. What do you think Intel will actually release?

They need to make an effort since currently nobody is purchasing Intel.

For gaming, Bartlett Lake seems likely to offer decent performance. The E-cores provide minimal benefit in most titles. Realistically, it probably won’t surpass Raptor Lake much. I’m curious about whether the 12 core configuration delivers a noticeable boost. In the best scenario, it could be around 20% faster than the 14900K, matching the 9800X3D level. A more plausible range would be between 7800X3D and 9800X3D. If it reaches that mark, it would represent a strong achievement for Intel, though it remains uncertain. It’s possible games won’t scale beyond 8 P-Cores, or Bartlett Lake might not match Raptor Lake’s speed. If the Core 5 120F is priced below $150 and delivers i5 13600K performance for gaming, it could be an attractive budget choice. However, it wouldn’t significantly improve over a 12600K. You’d probably need the 8 core option to match the 13700K in gaming performance. This remains speculation at this stage. I’d wait for reviews to confirm these expectations.

I plan to extend my 12700K until AM6. In the worst scenario, I might receive an update to AM5.

Sale closes today, but Newegg offers the 14600K (14-core) for $149 with a promo code. With multiple Z790 boards in my collection, I bought a few at this price. It seems to include the Battlefield 6 bundle too. Uncertain if it boosts CPU longevity or adds four more cores (6P/8E). It’s a shame Intel has strayed from its path. I’m considering switching to team red as well. Just wish they weren’t so expensive. The 9600X at $204 looks like the best deal for six cores. Hope this helps.
