I'm planning to purchase a new laptop for my mother. The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 15'' seems like a good choice. I'm searching for software that could handle the device on her behalf. The main goal is to ensure she doesn't rely heavily on constant power or screen-on status. She shouldn't have the laptop always fully charged at 100% for six years or keep the display constantly active without any screensaver. I need a solution that automates battery management—like pausing charging once it hits 20% and allowing it to charge only when it reaches 80%, without needing to unplug. Ideally, she wants one screen in a screensaver mode while the other stays active for work. Her setup involves a laptop on one side and a second monitor centrally for primary tasks. The OLED panel might cause the Windows 11 taskbar to degrade quickly. I'm looking for options that let me switch the second monitor into a screensaver independently, or adjust per monitor settings. Maybe the Book 2 Pro can run smoothly on the secondary screen while the main display stays idle? Or is there a way to keep one monitor in standby and the other active without switching modes system-wide? I also want to avoid battery swelling or pixel damage, so the charging behavior must be smart.

Samsung now includes a battery saver in Android. This restricts the battery to 85% capacity and cuts off power when it reaches that level, ensuring it operates solely on AC electricity.

Android isn't a laptop operating system, but was it developed for Windows as well?

Not an Android user, just using a laptop. Ideally, Windows would offer a feature similar to Android’s battery charge cap, but I’m not sure such a thing exists yet...

Sorry, I missed that it was a Windows laptop. Generally, most devices offer similar capabilities. For instance, Lenovo includes a charging limit in the Vantage model. My HP Elitebook lets you cap battery usage at 80%, and my gaming laptop has this feature as well. It's likely there are options in Samsung software or BIOS settings that provide similar control.

Gucci, I’m counting on finding a laptop with some built-in features. It seems local shops aren’t carrying many options right now, though online stores have them in stock. The ones everyone wants are already sold out, and the ones available online aren’t showing up locally. Speaking of screensavers, do you know any software that can create them based on monitor activity instead of using the whole system?
