The game limits FPS to 300 by default. You can adjust the setting in the options menu, but after restarting, it resets to the default. There’s no built-in way to permanently override this unless you modify the game files or use a mod.

Modify autoexec.cfg with fps_max set to 0 and include additional settings like cl_righthand 0 or your crosshair configuration.

you’d prefer it reach such heights because a higher refresh rate makes the display smoother and more responsive, avoiding noticeable lag or stuttering.

Can't set a limit in your graphics card settings? You might try the GeForce Control Panel.

It might be better to avoid doing that. When your GPU runs very intensely during games, it can lead to coil whine.

Setting fps_max to 0 in launch options seems like the simplest solution

Your launch settings are configured as follows:
- Novid mode, no border, high priority, 4 threads
- Frequency set to 145 Hz, refresh at 145 Hz
- Tick rate adjusted to 128 Hz
- No joystick support, no joystick detection
- Execution path: autoexec.cfg + mat_vignette_enable=0
- Memory allocation: heap size limited to 4
You can modify the frequency and refresh values as needed.

I resolved the issue, yet I wondered why I was limiting my FPS when higher speeds were possible.
