Auto connect your Wi-Fi network using Windows 10 wireless settings.
I have an unsecured guest Wi‑Fi at work that I often connect my laptop to. It doesn’t automatically join when nearby, but when I turn off my laptop and then power it back on at home, it connects to a hidden network with the same name. It seems to be linked to a Comcast or Xfinity hotspot, possibly auto‑authenticating because of my Comcast account. The main issue isn’t the connection itself, but that it happens even though I’m not connected—like it’s trying to access my home network without me realizing it. I receive a Comcast IP address, but I’m not sure why it keeps showing up. It can be annoying when I try to use Chrome Cast or other devices and don’t notice the auto‑connect behavior. What should I check?
