Authentic Windows 7 Ultimate is launching without activation.
The name clearly indicates what I’m talking about. Earlier this summer I bought Windows 7 Ultimate at full cost, not from unofficial sources. Now upgrading to Windows 10 is causing an error: “What should I do?” (I don’t have the original installation code left).
The answer would be to reinsert your license key. You must locate it, as it's crucial.

Copy the text into notepad, save it as a .vbs file, and execute it. It should display your product key.
You’ve tried a solution and it didn’t go well. It seems someone you trusted might have compromised your system, leaving you with a broken setup and unexpected costs. Considering this, switching to Windows 8.1 Pro from an official source like the official store or a reputable retailer could be a safer path. Upgrading might also help avoid further issues.
I've encountered the same issue before. I have a workaround that might help, but I can't test it without my PC right now. Check out this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/187...html?ltr=A
You should upgrade from your old operating system (versions 7, 8, 8.1) and then consider a fresh installation to ensure your system is up-to-date and has the necessary activation key. Freshly installing your PC should still allow activation if you have the Windows 10 upgrade option in the system tray. Wait a few days and check if activation happens promptly—sometimes it just needs time. Upgrading is the most reliable method for activating Windows 10.
