Audio problems with Mobo Audio?
I own a Razer Kraken X 7.1 headset and a Logitech C720 webcam. For some time, the microphone on the headset wouldn't work, so I used my webcam mic instead. I bought a Y-splitter cable to connect both the mic and headphone jack, but audio came through while the mic still didn’t function. After removing the splitter, neither the motherboard audio nor the case audio ports responded. I tested with other devices and confirmed everything worked fine. I’m planning to try different audio gear to check if the issue lies with my motherboard. I also wondered if I accidentally shorted the audio ports on the motherboard or case. Additionally, Windows or Realtek would prompt me to plug in a headphone, mic, or line-in when I connect headphones, which might affect things. Right now I’m thinking about switching to a USB audio interface like Behringer UM2 and a dedicated mic such as Fifine k669b. But first I want to see if I can resolve this problem.
