I had to restart my laptop and everything looked fine, but I was only interested in fixing my audio issues. After resetting, my sound kept problems and there were strange crackling noises. When I played games, it would freeze and drop to just 10 frames per second. I searched for solutions and found instructions in the Device Manager under Sound, Video & Game Controller. I updated the drivers, checked available devices, and selected the High Definition Audio device. My audio worked perfectly then, but now my headset mic isn’t recognized—it only sees headphones and uses the laptop microphone. If I switched it to Realtek audio, the mic worked but the audio still lagged and made the computer slow.
