Audio input connector front side
Audio input connector front side
Hello! I'm just getting started here, but I thought this was the right spot. Recently, I bought a ROG Strix B-450-F Gaming and a Fractal Design Focus-G case along with some other parts. My front audio connector seems to be acting up—no sound when plugging in headphones, only an electrical buzz. It's not my microphone port, which is fine since I use it for audio now. I've reached out to Fractal and they sent me a new front I/O panel, but the issue persists. Now that I'm moving my mouse and scroll wheel, static appears too. I've checked online forums, but no one else seems to have the same problem. I've tried reseating the connector, getting a new panel from Fractal, reinstalling drivers multiple times, using different cables, and even looked up some other solutions. If you have any advice, please let me know—I'm stuck and can't figure it out. Thanks!
I believe your motherboard may be experiencing an issue. Are both the rear headphone jack and the audio output making that same whining sound? For me, I’d have my motherboard checked for inspection. The problem might stem from a faulty capacitor, a soldering mistake, or a defective IO chip.
The rear headphone port functions perfectly, but I prefer a thorough check before assuming it's faulty.
I tackled another issue by repositioning my cables and adjusting the audio wire. It seemed to help? Great! Anyone facing a comparable situation might want to try the same approach first.
