Hello, my PC is up and running smoothly. I updated the BIOS and installed the drivers, so it’s ready for regular use. However, there’s a problem: when I power it off, the fans, RAM sticks, and PSU indicators don’t turn off. I suspect a motherboard issue and have listed the specifications below for clarity. I’ve also tried adjusting settings in the BIOS without success. Hope you can help. MSI B550 tomahawk Ryzen 7 5800X G.Skill Trident Z 16GB 8x2 3600MHz GTX 960 (shortage) Corsair RM750X

Due to these fans and LEDs operating on 5V standby, a minimal current flow remains active as long as power reaches the outlet. The PSU toggle stays enabled, and the 24-pin connector remains connected. This standby mode also powers the front IO when the power pins are shorted, though I might be mistaken about that. Regarding the PSU lights, they indicate system status. As for the RAM RGB profiles, they can differ from the on-screen settings once the machine is powered off—custom profiles may reset to defaults unless you install and configure the appropriate software.

They're referring to the RGB lighting on the power supply unit. It changes to the built-in system settings, but those settings don't last. It seems like a basic issue you might be overlooking.

Many power supplies aren’t RGB, and I wasn’t aware there was an RGB version of the RM750X. It’s possible there’s something in the MSI UEFI about RGB that I don’t know, but based on what I have, it seems unlikely this issue can be resolved. The RGB setting is usually enabled by default to illuminate as long as the 5V SB is active. Sorry, I couldn’t provide further assistance.

Unlikely. If it existed, it would be fully in the UEFI. The 5V SB has been part of ATX standards since 1995, and your motherboard uses it to run the low-power LEDs and fan—slow speed means less power. It could even feed into the motherboard’s circuitry so the 5V SB powers the fan and RAM contacts when the +5V wire (usually one of the red pins on the 24-pin connector) is not available.
